In a blunt interview on Channels Television’s Morning Brief, security and intelligence analyst Yahuza Getso stated:
“99.9% of the bandits operating in North-West and North-Central Nigeria are Nigerians. Security agencies know exactly who they are and where they are. They are not in Sambisa Forest, not in caves, not in difficult terrain. They live among us.”
The statement comes barely 48 hours after:
- 23 schoolgirls remain in captivity following the brutal attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, Kebbi State (VP killed, students abducted at 4 a.m.)
- ISWAP released execution photos of Brigadier General Musa Uba, commander of 25 Task Force Brigade, after ambushing his convoy in Borno
Both incidents have reignited national outrage and questions about why known threats continue to operate freely terrorise communities despite repeated assurances from security chiefs.
Many Nigerians are now asking the same painful question:
If the bandits and terrorists are known, If their locations are known, Why are they still walking free?
The cycle of attacks, condemnations, and hashtags continues — while families wait for daughters who may never return and soldiers who gave everything are mourned in silence.
Enough is enough. Action, not words.
