Imo State Police Nab Four Over Illegal Fireworks

The Imo State Police Command has arrested four individuals for the unlawful possession and distribution of banned fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices within the Owerri metropolis.

The suspects, identified as Victor Amadi, 29, Moses Okoro, 31, Ebuka Onye, 28, and Isaac Amadi, 23, were apprehended following intelligence-led raids at various locations across Owerri, where large quantities of prohibited fireworks were recovered.

Confirming the arrests, the command’s spokesperson, SP Henry Okoye, reiterated that the use, sale, distribution, and possession of fireworks, knockouts, bangers, and all other explosive devices remain strictly prohibited in Imo State.

He warned that anyone found violating the directive will face arrest and prosecution under the law.
