Kenya Arrests Three Nigerians Over Alleged Cyber Fraud Activities

By Peter.

Kenyan police have arrested three Nigerian nationals accused of illegal stay and running a cyber fraud operation in Mwea East, Kirinyaga County.

The suspects—Peter Chukwujekwu, Alazor Chukulute Sunday, and Nnalue Chiagozie Samwel—were nabbed on November 12, 2025, during a joint raid by police and immigration officers at their hideout in Mwihoko village, Ngurubani town.

Acting on public tip-offs about suspicious late-night activities, authorities recovered 21 mobile phones, 79 SIM cards, a Dell laptop, 37 bank credit cards, seven foreign currencies, a white powdery substance, and items linked to suspected occult practices.

Kirinyaga County Criminal Investigations Officer Justus Imana confirmed the men entered Kenya between 2021 and January 2025 and have since overstayed their visas without valid work permits.

“They are in the country illegally,” Imana said, adding that victims of their alleged scams are urged to come forward for identification.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) described the operation as a major blow to a suspected cross-border cybercrime network.

The trio claimed to be running an “online business.” They are in custody and are set to appear in court on November 13.
