Kogi House of Assembly approves ₦582.4 billion 2025 budget estimate
1 min readThe Kogi State House of Assembly on Tuesday approved the 2025 budget proposal of ₦582.4.
The passage of 6 bill followed its presentation by the House Standing Committee on Appropriation, Budget Monitoring, and Economic Planning in Lokoja.
The approved budget is made up of ₦281,153,215,687 for recurrent expenditure and ₦301,280,903,802 for capital expenditure.
During the clause-by-clause consideration by the sub-Committee of Supply, the Speaker of the House, Aliyu Yusuf announced that the budget, which includes specific allocations for various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), will be effective from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025.
He commended his fellow lawmakers for their diligence in thoroughly reviewing and approving the budget.
Governor Ahmed Ododo had earlier presented the ₦582.4 billion appropriation bill to the Assembly on December 3, seeking approval for the 2025 fiscal year.
