#LAS2025: Lagos Hosts Life After School Summit for the Second Edition

By Peter.

Over 500 final-year students from Lagos tertiary institutions converged for a transformative full-day blast at the Life After School Summit (LAS2025), powered by the Noella Foundation under Layal Jade Tinubu’s leadership—arming youth with real-world skills to crush post-grad hurdles and supercharge job readiness.

This second-edition powerhouse, held in Lagos, dialed up the heat with fresh tracks on digital literacy and financial smarts, pushing beyond basic CV tweaks and personal branding to forge workplace warriors ready for tomorrow’s economy.

Kicking off with raw passion, Mrs. Layal Tinubu laid bare the Foundation’s heartbeat: “Motherhood and education advocacy fuel this fire. We’ve sparked learning in kids via my ventures; now, through Noella, we’re unlocking youth potential. LAS isn’t about resumes—it’s mindset mastery to own your destiny.”

Attendees dove into hands-on booths led by pros, mastering:

  • Personal Branding & CV Crafting
  • Financial Literacy Basics
  • Digital Entry-Level Skills

Every participant scored a free pro headshot to amp up LinkedIn and beyond.

The speaker roster? Pure fire:

  • Bankole Williams on “Frustration and Fascination as Direction”
  • Kunle Afolayan, Mojisola Hunponu-Wusu (global career scaling), Stella Fubara, Abiri Folagbade, Aramide Abe, Osita Oparaugo

Panels unpacked identity, creativity, global edge, and authentic paths—leaving minds blown.

Hon. Ayodele Olawande, Youth Development Minister, dropped gems: “Values alone won’t cut it—pair them with competence and discipline. This summit? Your launchpad, not the finish line.” He doubled down on his pledge: two practical skills for every young Nigerian in two years.

Charles Odii, SMEDAN DG, stepped up with instant CAC registration support for student startups, turbocharging entrepreneurship.

To fuel excellence:

  • 42 laptops handed out
  • 26 educational grants awarded to top performers

Feedback lit up the room—one mental health advocate vowed to curate her online brand deliberately; a LASUSTECH Mass Comm student beamed: “No LinkedIn before today. Now? Account live, positioning myself as a comms beast ready to seize gigs.”

Next Level Unlocked: 250 summit stars advance to the four-week Life After School Bootcamp 2025—a hardcore accelerator on pro polish, workplace hacks, and self-growth. From there, the elite top 50 hit the Creative Workshop for storytelling, collab, and design thinking mastery.

Wrapping with vision, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, Noella Co-founder & Chairman: “LAS has exploded into a national movement. School ends, but real education ignites when life questions hit. It’s messy, non-linear—but with focus, grit, and faith, we’re guiding the way.”

Noella Foundation stays locked in: bridging school-to-work gaps with access, opps, and backup for Nigeria’s next-gen hustlers.
