A 200-level Agricultural Economics student at LAUTECH Iseyin Campus was walking along a major road in Iseyin town yesterday when a speeding vehicle SLAMMED into him and ZOOMED OFF like nothing happened!
He was rushed to hospital but didn’t make it. 💔
Name not yet released, but the pain is DEEP.
Students EXPLODED in anger By Friday morning, hundreds poured into the streets, blocking roads, singing solidarity songs and screaming: “JUSTICE FOR OUR BROTHER!” “GOVERNMENT WAKE UP!” “NO MORE RECKLESS DRIVERS!”
They vowed not to rest until the killer driver is caught.
LAUTECH Management reacts FAST Registrar Mrs Olayinka Balogun dropped an emotional statement: “This tragedy has cast a dark shadow over our entire community. Effective IMMEDIATELY, Iseyin Campus is SHUT DOWN for TWO WEEKS. All students in College of Agricultural Sciences go home TODAY. Resume Monday 24th November 2025.”
She begged students: “Stay safe, hold each other tight, honour your brother’s memory.”
Police say they’ve launched a MANHUNT for the hit-and-run coward. CCTV, witnesses, everything is being checked.
This is the SECOND student death by reckless driving around Oyo campuses in just 3 months. When will it stop???
Drop a 🙏 for the family and tag every driver you know – SLOW DOWN, LIFE NO GET SPARE!
