Dame Vera Sadoh has emerged as the Chairman-Elect of Etsako Central Local Government Area following her victory in the recently concluded local government elections conducted in Edo State.
Contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sadoh secured a total of 51,467 votes to earn the mandate of the people and become the first female Chairman-Elect from the Uneme community in Etsako Central Local Government Area.
The declaration of the election result was greeted with widespread jubilation across the local government area as supporters, party faithful and residents celebrated what they described as a significant milestone for the council. The atmosphere was marked by thanksgiving, cultural displays and renewed optimism for the future of the local government.
In her acceptance remarks, the Chairman-Elect expressed profound gratitude to the electorate for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to provide purposeful, transparent and inclusive leadership. She assured residents that her administration would be people-centred, development-driven and focused on improving the welfare of all communities within the local government.
Sadoh reaffirmed her commitment to promoting peace, unity and sustainable development, noting that her administration would align with the SHINE Agenda of Governor Monday Okpebholo, particularly in delivering impactful grassroots governance.
She also expressed appreciation to Governor Monday Okpebholo for his leadership and support, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Jarrett Tenebe, the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Senator Adams Aliu Oshiomhole, and the leadership of the APC for their confidence and unwavering support throughout the electioneering process.
The Chairman-Elect further thanked party members, campaign supporters, stakeholders, youths, women and the people of Etsako Central for their dedication and collective efforts, describing the victory as one that belongs to every resident of the local government.
Residents of the Uneme community also expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC for giving one of their daughters the opportunity to serve as Chairman of Etsako Central Local Government Area. They described the development as historic and expressed confidence in her ability to deliver quality leadership.
The celebration featured vibrant Etsako traditional music and colourful cultural dance performances, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the people and symbolising the beginning of a new chapter in the administration of Etsako Central Local Government Area.
