Luno, the Africa-founded global cryptocurrency platform, has teamed up with AltSchool Africa, a leading accredited online learning provider, to offer fully funded cryptocurrency education to 15,000 Nigerians.

Dubbed “Demystifying Crypto for Africans,” the program is described as the continent’s largest crypto literacy initiative to date, announced on Tuesday.

Luno Nigeria CEO Ayotunde Alabi emphasized the need for education amid rapid crypto growth: “As adoption surges across Africa, building formal knowledge is essential for safe and meaningful participation. This partnership empowers Nigerians to engage confidently in the digital economy, transforming perceived risks into genuine opportunities.”

AltSchool Africa Co-founder and CEO Adewale Yusuf added that the collaboration represents a commitment to financial inclusion: “We’re equipping participants with practical skills to navigate cryptocurrency effectively, fostering a more digitally empowered society.”

The beginner-friendly course will run in three cohorts of 5,000 learners each:

  • Cohort 1: Applications January–February 2026, classes start March
  • Cohort 2: July 2026
  • Cohort 3: November 2026

Eligible participants must be Nigerian residents aged 18+, and hold or create a Luno account.

Delivered over 3–4 weeks, the curriculum includes five modules with video lessons, quizzes, case studies, and hands-on practice using wallets, exchanges, stablecoins, and tools like CoinGecko and Etherscan. Graduates receive an official AltSchool Africa Certificate of Completion, with one-year access to materials.

Led by Web3 expert Abdulsamad Tiamiyu, the program focuses on real-world applications such as savings, remittances, global trade, and entrepreneurship.

With around one-third of Nigerians already interacting with digital assets, the initiative aims to bridge knowledge gaps and promote responsible crypto engagement for long-term economic benefits.
