Man living in the U.S., originally from Pakistan, was arrested after guns, ammunition and tactical gear were found in his vehicle

In a chilling close call for the University of Delaware community, 25-year-old Luqmaan Khan—a Pakistani-born U.S. citizen and former undergraduate student—has been arrested for allegedly plotting a violent attack on the campus police department, complete with a cache of illegal weapons and a notebook blueprinting his “urban warfare” fantasies. What started as a routine late-night traffic stop on November 24 escalated into a federal probe, thanks to sharp-eyed New Castle County officers who spotted Khan’s white Toyota Tacoma idling in the closed Canby Park West—about 15 miles from UD’s Newark campus.

When Khan refused to exit the vehicle and resisted arrest, a search uncovered a tactical nightmare: a loaded Glock .357 pistol rigged with a micro-conversion kit turning it into a semi-automatic rifle, four 27-round extended magazines (loaded with over 100 rounds total), body armor plates, binoculars, and a marble composition notebook scrawled with premeditated mayhem. That notebook? A would-be manifesto labeling a map of the “UD Police Station” with entry/exit points, notes on “ambush” tactics, “surprise attacks,” and evasion strategies—plus chilling phrases like “kill all – martyrdom.” It even named a specific campus officer as a target, though motives remain murky.

Khan, who immigrated to the U.S. as a youth and had no prior record, reportedly told FBI agents post-arrest that “becoming a martyr is… one of the greatest things you can do” and a personal “goal.” The notebook delved into “warfare techniques,” ranking weapons for scenarios—AR rifles for “open spaces,” Glocks for “fast transition fighting,” even tear gas for “room clearing” and knives for “no noise kills.”

The Home Raid: Even More Firepower

The next day, FBI agents hit Khan’s Wilmington apartment, unearthing an even deadlier haul: another Glock 9mm with an illegal “Glock switch” converting it to full-auto (firing up to 1,200 rounds per minute), an AR-style .556 rifle with red-dot scope, hollow-point ammo, 11 extended magazines, and a full tactical vest with extra plates. None registered, all primed for chaos. New Castle County Police posted photos of the seized gear on social media, calling it a “potential tragedy” averted.

Charges and Community Fallout

Khan faces a laundry list: state counts like resisting arrest, concealed deadly weapon, large-capacity mag possession, expired tags, and no license in possession—plus federal heavy-hitters for illegal machine gun and unregistered firearm (up to 10 years each). Arraigned on $107,200 cash bail, he’s in FBI custody with a state hearing December 9 and federal detention December 11.

UD, confirming Khan’s enrollment but immediate “separation” and campus ban, is cooperating fully—interim President Laura Carlson called it “frightening.” Neighbors described the once-friendly guy turning withdrawn lately. Law enforcement hailed the patrol duo: “Rather than just telling him the park was closed, they did police work—and that made all the difference,” per Master Cpl. Richard Chambers. FBI’s Jimmy Paul added: “Thanks to proactive work, a dangerous threat was stopped.”

Online Storm: Outrage, Speculation, and Warnings

X erupted with the news, blending horror and hot takes—Libs of TikTok’s post on the “manifesto and blueprint” racked up 16K+ likes and 6K+ reposts, amplifying fears of “imported violence.” Accounts like @SeeRacists decried “America, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!” with 5K+ likes, while @TPASarah dissected the notebook as “urban combat research.” True crime pages warned of the “terrorism context,” urging shares for awareness. Indian outlets like Times of India framed it as a “Pakistani immigrant” seeking martyrdom, sparking global ripples. Broader chatter questions radicalization pipelines, with one viral thread asking: “What turns people toward violence after they get here?”

This isn’t just a bust—it’s a stark reminder of how vigilance can shatter plots. As the FBI digs deeper (no terror group links yet), Khan’s case spotlights the toxic mix of easy gun mods and unchecked ideologies. UD’s safe for now, but the “what ifs” linger.
