Mass Defection to PDP in Orhionmwon: Iguododo, Idunmwenke, Ugboko-Numagbae Decampees Join Forces

Orhionmwon People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was in wild jubilation as mass defection of members from the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP) to the rulling party, PDP, was recorded in Iguododo, Idunmwenke, Ugboko-Numagbae.

Over one hundred from the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Labour Party (LP) in Idunmwenke and Ugboko-Numagbae, gathered to officially join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The team was led by Billy Aikpitanyi and the community’s youth chairman, Monday Osayiwu marking a significant political shift in Orhionmwon South.

The defection which attracted wild jubilation from the PDP camp was recorded in Iguododo, Idunmwenke, Ugboko-Numagbae in Orhionmwon.

The decampees were formally received into the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) by Hon. Bright Iyamu, Hon. Monday Igbinigie, the D.G. campaign, Rt. Hon. Nosayaba Okunbor, Hon. Sunday Okankan, and Ward Chairman Mr. David Ovieko and Hon. Best Oghomwentiti.

The leaders who were elated, welcomed the new members with open arms, signaling a new era of unity and collaboration.

The defection ceremony also saw the people turning out en-masse to show their solidarity and support for the member representing Orhionmwon South Constituency in Edo state House of Assembly.

Hon. Iyamu while receiving the decampees enumerated the benefits of supporting and voting for the PDP’s Governorship candidate Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Barr. Osarodion Ogie, popularly known as AiO².

The lawmaker said “AiO² leadership is built on a foundation of integrity and a deep understanding of the needs of Edo people. Their mission and vision for the state’s future is one of development, growth and opportunity for all and sundry. Edo State will experience transformative change”.

The event underscores a pivotal moment in the political landscape of Iguododo, Idunmwenke and Ugboko-Numagbae. The new PDP members, disillusioned with their former parties, are now part of the PDP, bringing with them renewed hope and determination for a brighter future.

Highpoint of the event was presentation of PDP party cards to the new members.
