NAWOJ: Service to the Needy is Service to God – Aisha Ibrahim

A call for more attention to be paid to humanitarian services has been made today in Jos, the Plateau state capital.

 

Speaking during the Easter Edition of NAWOJ Humanity-First initiative (NAHFI), recently unveiled in Borno state, Aisha Ibrahim K Bura, National Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists stated that anything done to alleviate poverty, help the needy and cater to the welfare needs of indigent people is service to God Almighty and tasked all to be deliberate in supporting the needy.

 

The National Chairperson, represented by Lucy Chindaba, a national leader of NAWOJ who led other women Journalists to the House of Recab, an Orphanage, reiterated her promise to ensure that NAHFI touches every part of the nation going forward.

“This initiative has come to stay and will be replicated across the nation, touching the most critical segments of humanity.” The NAWOJ boss stated.

 

Foodstuff, including groceries, beverages and toiletries were distributed at the Orphanage.

 

The Christmas edition of NAHFI is scheduled to be held in Portharcourt, Rivers state, to be hosted by Chief Dr Mrs Lilian Okonkwo-Ogabu, Deputy National Chairperson of NAWOJ.
