Nigerians Can Now Buy Petrol at N739/Litre as Dangote Launches Supply Nationwide

By Comfort Asemota

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has officially commenced nationwide sales of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at a pump price of ₦739 per litre through over 2,000 MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations. The initiative aims to provide affordable fuel to Nigerians, stabilize the downstream market, and reduce the country’s dependence on imported petrol.

In a statement on Sunday, the refinery lauded marketers already implementing the new price and urged others to follow suit to support national economic recovery. Backed by a guaranteed daily supply of 50 million litres, the move ensures steady availability during the festive season, a period traditionally associated with fuel scarcity and price spikes.

By refining fuel locally, Dangote Petroleum Refinery is helping conserve foreign exchange, stabilize the naira, and strengthen Nigeria’s energy security. The refinery also warned against attempts to create artificial scarcity and urged regulatory agencies to enforce compliance.

Consumers were advised to report stations charging above ₦739 per litre via the hotline 0800 123 5264. The company reaffirmed its commitment to steady supply, price moderation, and the long-term national interest.

“Our objective is clear: consistent access to high-quality petroleum products at affordable prices, supporting economic stability and reducing reliance on imports,” the statement concluded.
