The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a strong warning to corps members nationwide, advising them to avoid travelling without proper authorisation to prevent road dangers and security risks during their service year.

The NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, gave the caution while addressing 2025 Batch ‘C’ corps members at the Edo State Orientation Camp.

In a statement released by the NYSC spokesperson, Gbenga Fanegane, the DG urged corps members to prioritize their personal safety and maintain vigilance at their places of primary assignment.

He emphasized the importance of avoiding night journeys, noting that most highway incidents occur in the late hours.

The statement reads:

“Always get correct information and establish facts before circulating the same on social media platforms. Also, abstain from social vices such as cultism, cybercrimes, thuggery, and other negative acts that could jeopardise your personal safety.”

Nafiu encouraged corps members to remain disciplined, responsible, and security-conscious both within and outside the orientation camp.
