Office Of The First Lady Empowers Ossiomo Leprosorial Centre with Eco-Friendly Cooking Stoves

The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Anani, has extended empowerment gesture to Ossiomo Leprosorial Centre in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Edo State.
Mrs Anani said the provision of cooking utensils to the inmates was a deliberate step towards reducing carbon footprint, mitigating effects of climate change, and promoting sustainable development across Edo State.
Represented by the Senior Special Assistance to the Governor, Mrs. Mabel Obetoh, the coordinator distributed clean coal stoves and pots, bags of charcoal to the vulnerable community.
The Leprosorial Centre Chairman, Mr. Peter Enabulele, commended the laudable initiative and expressed gratitude to the coordinator for her visit and government’s continuous support.
He however appealed to the State Government to among other things review the monthly stipend for the Leprosorial Centre, rehabilitate the hospital, to enable them have access to good quality healthcare in the centre.
