Office of the First Lady Partners with Pharmacists to Promote Citizen Wellbeing

In a bid to promote the wellbeing of citizens, the Coordinator Office of the First Lady, Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Anani, has emphasized the importance of pharmacists’ roles in healthcare during a courtesy visit in Government House by the Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria, Edo State Chapter.
Mrs. Anani emphasized that pharmacists are essential in the healthcare system, providing critical guidance to patients and ensuring the safe use of medications. She called on pharmacists to remain vigilant in their practice, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
She highlighted the crucial role pharmacists play in advising patients and ensuring the safe use of medications, stating that “a healthy population is key to a wealthy nation.”
The Coordinator also emphasized the need for strict penalties for those involved in fake drug sales and those involved should face the full weight of the law. This move aims to protect citizens from the dangers of fake drugs and ensure that only safe and effective medications are available in the market.
The Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria, Edo State Chapter led by The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Emmanuel Igechi, highlighted the importance of the forthcoming conference in promoting healthcare and combating drug abuse.
The Director General, Primary HealthCare, Pharmacists Kenny Okojie and the Local Organizing Committee Chairman, Jacob Eguarevba, appreciated the Coordinator Office of the First Lady for her unflinching support towards the forthcoming conference.
The National Conference, Edo 2025, holds on August 4th to 9th, 2025. The conference includes, A health walk against drug abuse along Ikpokpan Road. A medical outreach program prior to the conference at Urhokpota Hall, Benin City.
The National Conference, Edo 2025, is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders in the health sector to discuss current trends and challenges in healthcare and identify solutions to improve healthcare delivery.
The partnership between the Office of the First Lady and the Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria, Edo State Chapter, is a significant step towards promoting citizen wellbeing and enhancing the healthcare system.
