Okpebholo Vows 2.5 Million Edo Votes for Tinubu in 2027

In a strategic display of political solidarity, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has formally pledged the state’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s anticipated re-election campaign in 2027, setting an ambitious target of 2.5 million votes.

The commitment was delivered during a special reception for the state’s Muslim community, an event integrated into the festivities marking the Governor’s first anniversary in office. The gathering, held at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, served as a platform to consolidate support and underscore the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance.

Governor Okpebholo, addressing the audience, articulated a vision of national unity and steadfast support for the President’s reform agenda. He lauded President Tinubu as “a man of courage, character, and truth, committed to repositioning our nation through bold reforms.”

“The interest of Edo State is greater than any personal or sectional interest,” Governor Okpebholo stated. “I have promised the president that we will deliver 2.5 million votes to him come 2027. Edo will continue to stand with a president who values competence, integrity, and national unity.”

Beyond the electoral pledge, the Governor used the occasion to highlight his administration’s core principle of merit-based inclusivity. He assured the Muslim community that his government operates on the tenet that “Edo belongs to all of us, irrespective of religion or background,” and that official appointments are “guided strictly by competence and capacity.”

The event also featured endorsements from key political figures. Former Deputy Governor Lucky Imasuen praised Governor Okpebholo’s deliberate and compassionate leadership style, while a documentary showcased the administration’s first-year achievements, dubbed “Practical Governance.”

In a symbolic conclusion, Governor Okpebholo was presented with an award recognizing his inclusive governance and dedication to service, cementing an event that effectively blended anniversary celebration with forward-looking political strategy.
