The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande, on Saturday, evacuated huge waste at Kara Market, Ward 4, Aduwawa area.

The Council Boss continues to execute programs to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for Ikpoba-Okha people, forming part of his administration’s agenda.

Head of the Department of Environment, Ikpoba-Okha, Mrs. Blessing Uwadiae, alongside personnel of the department, were on the ground to direct and monitor the evacuation.

Waste managers engaged by the Council were also seen participating in the exercise.

The Osayande-led administration has, in its arrangement, several environmental sanitation programs to keep the Ikpoba-Okha environment clean, safe, and healthy.

One of those arrangements is the Monday market clean-up where market(s) are identified for environmental clean-up on Mondays; another is the regular evacuation of waste, for which many communities have been captured.

On Saturday, accumulated wastes at Kara Market, a major cattle market in Aduwawa, Ward 4, was evacuated, with traders expressing satisfaction with the work.
