Oyo Police Get New Spokesperson

The Oyo State Police Command has officially announced the appointment of a new spokesman, as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ayanlade Olushola Olayinka assumes duty as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command.

The development was disclosed in a formal statement titled “Oyo State Police Command Gets New Spokesman”, released on December 23, 2025, by the Police Public Relations Office, Oyo State Command, headquartered in Eleyele, Ibadan.

According to the statement, the Oyo State Police Command new spokesman is DSP Ayanlade Olushola Olayinka, who joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on December 19, 2019.

DSP Ayanlade is an alumnus of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, where he graduated as a member of Regular Course Two (RC2). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology in 2019.

Highlighting his career profile, the statement described the Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, as an experienced detective who has served in several operational roles, including Operations Officer and Departmental Team Leader.

Before his recent posting to Oyo State, DSP Ayanlade previously served as the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, where he handled public communications and media relations.

The statement also noted that the new spokesman belongs to several recognized professional organizations, including the International Association of Chiefs of Police (USA), the International Association of Crime Analysts (Kansas, USA), and the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Abuja.

In addition to his operational expertise, DSP Ayanlade holds a Master’s degree in Criminology and Security Studies, further strengthening his qualifications in security management and public engagement.

He has also participated in numerous professional and international training programs, such as Cyber Diplomacy, UN Disarmament Education (UNDE), Police Mobile Combat Training at Ila-Orangun, Anti-Corruption Training by UNODC, and Transnational Organized Crime courses by UNODC.
