Pastor Oritsejafor empowers 150 children with scholarships and special gifts

Dr. Helen Oritsejafor, Chairman of Spring Sky Finance Company Limited, made a remarkable impact at the 2025 NTA Channel 5 End-of-the-Year Children’s Party by awarding a full educational scholarship and distributing gifts to over 150 children.

The scholarship, covering education from primary school through university, was awarded to the winner of a game competition held during the annual festive event. The announcement was met with thunderous applause, marking an unprecedented act of generosity in the history of the December Felicitation celebration.

As Special Guest of Honour, Dr. Oritsejafor’s presence elevated the event, turning it into a moment of inspiration and hope for the children and attendees. Her gift distribution and scholarship initiative not only brought joy but also reaffirmed the transformative power of kindness and philanthropy.

A respected business leader, preacher, author, and committed philanthropist, Dr. Oritsejafor has consistently dedicated herself to uplifting communities, particularly focusing on children, youths, and the underprivileged. Over the years, she has offered scholarships, free vocational and skill acquisition programs, and financial support to help shape future leaders.

Dr. Oritsejafor also hosts the popular TV show “Mama Helen & You”, which she has used as a platform to empower families, provide cash and food donations, and educate viewers on societal and family issues.

Her foundation, Dr. Helen, A Hand to the Needy Foundation, launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, has amplified her impact by supporting struggling businesses, providing financial aid, and offering free business training. During the pandemic, beneficiaries received cash support ranging from ₦300,000 to ₦500,000 to prevent business closures.

Dr. Oritsejafor’s philanthropic work has earned international recognition. She has been honoured by the United Nations, African Leadership Magazine, and several African advocacy groups for her commitment to women, youth, and poverty alleviation. She has also partnered with notable figures, including former U.S. Congresswoman Dee Dawkins-Haigler, to support widows and vulnerable communities.
