Peter Obi is a Nigerian politician, businessman, and former Governor of Anambra State. On his x page formerly called twitter. made a Tweet concerning ongoing cpc Tag on nigeria by the Us government.

Tweet:
“Therefore, I call on the Nigerian government to take this development from the United States not as an act of hostility, but as a wake-up call—a sober reminder of how dire our internal security situation has become and how urgently we must act to restore order, protect lives, and rebuild trust in our institutions.
Our response should not be defensive or dismissive. Instead, it must reflect accountability and seriousness of purpose. We must demonstrate to the international community—and most importantly, to our own citizens—that we are capable of confronting the root causes of insecurity: poverty, unemployment, injustice, corruption, and poor governance.
No nation can command global respect when its citizens live in constant fear or when the sanctity of human life is daily violated. Nigeria must, therefore, renew its commitment to human rights, justice, and good governance as the foundation for national security and development.
I also urge our international partners, including the United States, to engage Nigeria constructively through support for capacity building, intelligence sharing, and humanitarian aid, rather than punitive or coercive measures that may further strain our already fragile state.
It is time for all Nigerians—leaders and citizens alike—to rise above politics and personal interest, and work collectively to rescue our nation from the brink. Only through transparent leadership, unity of purpose, and shared sacrifice can we restore Nigeria’s dignity and rightful place among nations.”
