President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to celebrate Christmas with moderation, emphasizing safety and peace during the holiday season. He spoke to newsmen at his Lagos residence on Sunday, December 21.
The President reassured citizens that his administration remains committed to combating banditry and terrorism across the country.
Speaking on the upcoming festivities, Tinubu said, “We will continue to pray to God Almighty that the coming Christmas will be a joyous one for everyone. This holiday will not be a disaster for Nigeria. God will bless all of you. You will stay in peace, rejoice in peace, and celebrate safely—no alcohol, no danger to anybody’s life.”
He further highlighted the nation’s progress, adding, “Nigeria is making progress. God will bless you, bless Lagos, and bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I assure you, we will defeat banditry and terrorism. God bless you!”
The President’s remarks encourage citizens to enjoy the Christmas celebrations responsibly while remaining vigilant, as his administration continues its efforts to ensure national security and stability.
