Paris Saint-Germain has reopened its pursuit of Victor Osimhen, only months after the Super Eagles striker joined Galatasaray on a permanent deal.
According to Goal.com, PSG’s renewed interest signals that manager Luis Enrique has unexpectedly reversed his long-standing opposition to signing the Nigerian forward. The reigning Champions League winners are now reportedly prepared to compete with Real Madrid, who have also been linked with a move for Osimhen in recent days.
For months, Enrique, the former Barcelona boss, had resisted the idea of bringing Osimhen to Paris, reportedly concerned that the striker’s fiery temperament might disrupt the team’s balance. However, internal discussions at PSG have shifted sharply in recent weeks.
Declining performances from Gonçalo Ramos, coupled with limitations in the team’s attacking structure, have forced a strategic rethink. Reports suggest that PSG sporting director Luis Campos, who has maintained discreet links with Osimhen during his time at Galatasaray, has now been authorized to intensify negotiations.
Galatasaray Remains Firm… For Now
The Turkish champions, however, remain resolute in the short term. Galatasaray is refusing to entertain winter talks, determined to keep their marquee forward until the end of the season. Still, there is quiet recognition in Istanbul that a significant offer—likely north of €100m—could eventually sway their stance. The club originally paid €75m to sign Osimhen from Napoli and expects a substantial profit on any deal.
Competition Heats Up: Barcelona and Real Madrid
Meanwhile, Barcelona is closely monitoring the situation as they prepare for life beyond Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires next June. The Catalan interest adds another layer of complexity to a saga already intensified by Enrique’s dramatic change of heart.
At the same time, Real Madrid has quietly accelerated its plans. The Spanish giants are reportedly preparing an offer exceeding €100m as they look to revamp their attack and restore Kylian Mbappé to his preferred left-wing role next season.
Negotiations with Galatasaray are expected to be complex. The Turkish club wants full value for its record signing and believes the market may drive the price well beyond the €75m it invested. With PSG, Barcelona, and Real Madrid all circling, the final fee for Osimhen could easily surpass €100m.
