Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, has reaffirmed her commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), despite repeated overtures from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a recent interview on the Mic On Podcast with Seun Okinbaloye, Akpoti-Uduaghan dismissed speculation about defecting, even as both the ruling party and some colleagues encouraged her to consider a switch.
When asked if she might view APC as an alternative, the senator stated, “No, I wouldn’t. I was briefly with APC at the beginning. Why should I go back? I don’t follow the bandwagon or yield to threats and persuasion.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan added that she has been approached multiple times, including by people from the Presidency and even her peers. “Just yesterday, someone jokingly said, ‘We’re still expecting you; we’d love to have you.’ But I love my space and peace here. I’m content with my party, so joining APC isn’t on my agenda,” she emphasized.
