Senator Olu Akpata Memorial Clinic Inauguration

Health is wealth they say, therefore getting good medical attention and care for the body, experts believe will improve longevity and ensure good health.

This is the ray of hope Senator Olu Akpata Memorial Clinic has brought to the members of the 93 year old Benin club.

The inauguration of the clinic built by the Labour Party Candidate, Olumide Akpata in honour of his uncle, Senator Olu Akpata, the first indigenous president of the Benin club 1931.

 

Senator Olu Akpata Memorial Clinic is coming on the heels of some notable members of the club who collapsed in the field of play and died before getting to the nearest medical facility.

Unveiling the facility, the Oba of Benin, Ewuare the Second who was represented by Chief Henry Osato Bazuaye (JP) was earlier led on a guided tour of the facility.

The medical clinic is a plus for members who come around for social and recreational activities.

The Labour party candidate vying for the 2024 Governorship seat, Olumide Akpata said “his decision to save lives will be extended to other communities of the state by building more health facilities across the 18 local government areas in Edo state”.

He further stated that timely Medicare saves lives, people participate in sporting activities here, so it is pertinent to have a medical clinic to save lives during an emergency. Timely intervention is necessary to saves lives” He added.

The Benin Club president, Henry Omoreige Esq said ” Health is wealth, the medical clinic will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our members, I am very glad because in the case of emergency in the club, their is a medical clinic to resuscitate life within the club premises”.

The member representing Oredo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives Hon. Esosa Iyawe, pointed out that ” the medical clinic came at the right time, and will be of great benefit to all members of the club in the case of any health issues the doctors and nurses will take charge “.

The Senator Olu Akpata Memorial Clinic with CPR facilities, reception hall, Doctor’s examination room, male and female wards with three bed spaces each and nurses’ changing room will also provide first care services to members of the club.

Some of the guests at the occasion including Isoken James and Osakpolo Iyoha commended Olumide Akpata for the laudable initiative.
