Senator Oluremi Tinubu Reaffirms Federal Government Commitment to Health Sector

Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, Nigeria’s First Lady, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to health interventions aimed at reducing maternal and child mortality across the country.
Speaking in Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo,Taraba State capital, during an engagement to promote the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), she emphasized the administration’s focus on building a healthier population—especially among the youth—by tackling preventable diseases.
Senator Tinubu highlighted the important role of women in our society, she admonished all the first ladies of the federation to support the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) by raising awareness of ongoing health programs.
“We are here to encourage frontline health workers by providing incentives and recognizing their efforts,
we believe maternal and infant mortality rates will deduced to the bearest minimum in our various states and Nigeria.”she said.
Coordinating Minister of Health, Prof. Ali Pate, also addressed the gathering, stressing the Federal Government’s commitment to frontline healthcare delivery.
In the North East alone, 8,500 frontline health workers have been trained—1,300 from Taraba.
Over 1,000 health facilities receive quarterly funding from the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund, including 170 in Taraba,” he noted.
Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, and his wife, Agyin Kefas, expressed appreciation for the interventions, affirming they align with the state’s development priorities.
The Coordinator Office of the First Lady, Edo State, Mrs Edesili Okpebholo Anani commended Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the laudable initiative.
As part of the visit, Her Excellency, presented 10,000 professional kits to midwives across the six North East states and handed over a ₦50 million cheque to support the empowerment of 1,000 women in Taraba State.
The renewed hope initiative underscores the Federal Government development strides to women empowerment and health interventions aimed at reducing maternal and child mortality across the Nation. Highpoint of the event was a group photography for all the delegates in attendances.
