Six Defence Ministry Directors Held as Abductors Request N150m Ransom

By Peter.

Kidnappers who abducted six female directors of the Federal Ministry of Defence on the Kabba–Lokoja highway in Kogi State on November 10 are demanding N150 million for their release.

The victims, traveling from Lagos to Abuja for a promotion exam, were ambushed in a coordinated attack. All are staff of Command Day Secondary School, Ojo, Lagos.

Victims:

  • Mrs. Ngozi Ibeziakor
  • Mrs. C. Emeribe
  • Mrs. Helen Ezeakor
  • Mrs. C. Ladoye
  • Mrs. J. Onwuzurike
  • Mrs. Catherine Essien

A family member told reporters:

“We’re in shock. N150 million is impossible. We beg for their safe return.”

The Association of Senior Civil Servants (ASCSN) condemned the abduction and confirmed the Ministry of Defence has deployed security teams for a rescue operation.

The highway remains a hotspot for banditry despite repeated promises of improved security.
