Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has expressed excitement after being recalled to the Super Eagles’ 28-man squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Omonia Nicosia shot-stopper had been absent from the national team since the last AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire, making his inclusion a surprising and welcome return.
Speaking to the Super Eagles media team, Uzoho shared his enthusiasm about rejoining the squad, emphasizing the camaraderie and atmosphere within the team. “I missed quite a lot. But honestly, I missed the boys. I missed the vibe in the camp, you know, because we’ve spent so much time together,” he said.
Uzoho’s return adds experience and depth to Nigeria’s goalkeeping options as the Super Eagles prepare for the continent’s premier football tournament.
