SWAN Edo Chapter Elects New Executives After Years of Leadership Rifts

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Edo State Chapter, has successfully conducted elections, bringing an end to years of leadership disputes.

 

The event took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium’s media center on Thursday, where Comrade Kehinde Osagiede of the Nigeria Observer Emerged as the Chairman of the State Writer’s Association.

 

Others in the Executive include Moses Idahosa of the Correspondent chapel who will serve as the Secretary of SWAN, and Silverbird Rhythm Sports Presenter, Ayoola Adeleke as Assistant Secretary, and Iguma Nosahkare elected Treasurer.

 

Asika Ikemefuna, Vice President of SWAN’s South-East zone, delivered a message from the national president, urging members to rally behind the new executives to propel the association forward.

 

Earlier, the Outgone caretaker committee chairman, Aliu Ozorovia, expressed gratitude to key individuals who ensured the election’s success.

 

On his part, the newly inaugurated chairman, Kehinde Osagiede, pledged to operate an open-door policy, fostering a well-informed association.

 

Osagiede emphasized that the election marks a significant milestone for SWAN’s Edo Chapter, offering a fresh start for growth and development.

 

He maintained that the new executives are poised to unite members and enhance the association’s impact on sports journalism in the state.

 

The successful election and inauguration of new executives signal a bright future for SWAN’s Edo Chapter.
