Tinubu’s Reforms Attracting More Investors, Shettima Declares

By Peter.

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday told a high-powered delegation of international investors that Nigeria under President Tinubu is wide open for business like never before.

Addressing the Advanced Energy Partners (AEP) consortium at the Presidential Villa, Shettima said ongoing reforms have created the perfect climate for massive investment inflows.

“There is no better time to invest in Nigeria. You have come at the right time under a committed leadership that has crossed the Rubicon and placed the country on irreversible sustainable growth,” he declared.

The delegation included:

  • Senator Abu Ibrahim (AEP chairman)
  • NORINCO VP Qiang Wenyu (fresh from Tinubu’s September 2024 Beijing meeting)
  • Horizon Energy Abu Dhabi CEO Mahra Rashed Al Suwaidi
  • UAE Ambassador Salem Saeed Al Shamsi
  • Top executives from China Zhenhua Oil and Beijing Auxin Chemical

Focus areas: upstream oil & gas, energy, mining, and defence industries.

NORINCO revealed its 2024 turnover hit $30 billion and confirmed it is actively expanding operations in Nigeria. Horizon Energy praised Tinubu’s leadership and the professional management of NNPC as key reasons for its renewed confidence.

UAE Ambassador Al Shamsi urged the investors to move fast: “Nigeria is the right place, and this is the right government.” He highlighted 2024 non-oil trade between Nigeria and UAE reaching $4.3 billion.

Shettima’s final word: “Be rest assured — you have placed your trust in the right nation. Nigeria is ready for business.”
