According to prosecutors, the incident occurred around 4 a.m. on December 4 at Dramma Night Club in Times Square. Court documents state that the singer became irate after a staff member informed him the club was closing. He is accused of punching the employee in the face, leaving the victim with swelling and significant pain.

The 41-year-old singer, whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson, has been charged with assault in connection with the incident.

Trey Songz is also facing a separate second-degree criminal mischief charge related to another incident earlier the same day at a Manhattan restaurant, Mira. Prosecutors allege that property valued at approximately $1,500 was damaged, including DJ equipment, sofas, and hookahs.

Reacting to the charges, the singer’s lawyer said Trey Songz is cooperating fully with authorities and remains confident that the facts will speak for themselves. The lawyer also claimed that on a separate occasion, the singer was confronted by individuals who instigated a situation, prompting his security team to intervene.

The case adds to a history of legal issues involving the singer. In 2021, he was arrested following an altercation with police at an NFL game in Kansas City, where he faced charges including resisting arrest and assaulting an officer.

Earlier this year, Trey Songz settled a civil lawsuit alleging sexual assault at a Miami nightclub. The case was resolved privately with no admission of wrongdoing, and the singer has consistently denied all allegations against him.

The singer is expected to return to court as legal proceedings continue.
