By Adesuwa Ehimuan

The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has joined millions across the globe to celebrate teachers on the occasion of *World Teachers’ Day 2025*.

In her message, Mrs. Anani commended teachers for their unwavering dedication, resilience, and commitment to nurturing future leaders. She described teachers as “true nation builders whose sacrifice and selfless service remain the foundation upon which sustainable development is built.”

According to her, the role of teachers in imparting knowledge, instilling values, and shaping character cannot be overstated. “Every successful professional, every innovator, and every leader owes their foundation to the guidance and support of a teacher,” she noted.

Mrs. Anani also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his administration’s continued investment in education, particularly in ensuring that teachers are better equipped to deliver quality education in the state.

She reaffirmed the commitment of the Office of the First Lady to continue supporting programmes that uplift teachers, promote education, and advance gender equity in the sector.

“On this special day, we celebrate not just teachers in Edo State, but across Nigeria and the world. We recognize your sacrifices and celebrate your invaluable contributions to humanity. Happy Teachers’ Day!” she added.
