SUBEB Chairman Receives Warm Welcome and Leadership Awar

The Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Barrister Mrs. Onomen Briggs, was formally welcomed by the board’s directors and heads of units during a courtesy visit to her office.

As a demonstration of their support, the directors and unit heads presented her with a framed portrait, symbolizing their commitment to the success of her administration. They also offered prayers for a productive tenure, expressing confidence in her capacity to advance the state’s basic education sector.

Further underscoring her impact, the management and staff of St. Matthews Royal Schools and Benson Idahosa Cathedral Academy, Uromi, conferred on her an Excellence in Leadership Award and a commemorative frame. The award recognized her dedication to educational reforms and her efforts in strengthening foundational learning in Edo State.

Barrister Briggs expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and recognition, reaffirming her commitment to collaboration, transparency, and innovation in driving policy implementation. She emphasized the need for synergy among stakeholders to achieve the board’s objectives and enhance educational outcomes.

Present at the event were Mrs. Beatrice Ada Oluku, Director of Shared Services; Mrs. Justina Odubel, Director of Legal; Mr. Austin Otas Osegbe, Director of Schools Support Services; Mr. Goodluck Edomwandagbon, Director of Quality Assurance; and Mr. Austin Ighodaro, Director of Social Mobilization. Others included Mrs. Eunice Onuabhagbe, Mrs. Blessing Amandasun, Mrs. Blessing Umagbae, and Mrs. Hawa Etsenumhe. Representing the financial and infrastructural arms of the board were Mrs. Joy Alakiri, Director of Finance & Accounts, and Mr. Martins Amune, Director of Project and Physical Planning.
