FG Declares May 1 Public Holiday

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has officially declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a public holiday on behalf of the Federal Government to mark this year’s Workers’ Day celebration..
In a statement released Tuesday night and signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, the minister praised Nigerian workers for their dedication and sacrifices, emphasizing that peace remains a vital foundation for industrialization and national economic progress.
Tunji-Ojo highlighted that the commitment of Nigerian workers is a key factor in the country’s stature and global recognition. He called on them to embrace innovation and productivity in their various sectors.
Extending warm wishes for the celebration, the minister urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, assuring that President Bola Tinubu’s administration remains steadfast in delivering on its Renewed Hope Agenda.
