Asue, Ogie, Iyamu others grace book launch of “Labour for Nothing” by Ogbeide

The book “Labour For Nothing” written by Goodluck Osama Ogbeide was yesterday formally presented to the public at a ceremony which was held at the Thames event centre, Benin city, attracted diginitries from all works of life
The author of the book, Mr Goodluck Osama Ogbeide who is the councillor representing Ugu ward 09, Orhionmwon legislative Arm said he was motivated to write the book “labour for nothing ” to encourage the youth and the present generation to cultivate the habit of reading and changing the narrative that Education is not scam.
He further said the book is a true life story about the invasion by herdsmen in Orhionmwon and some other LGAs in Edo state and how the incursion can be nip in the bud to ensure safety and security in the agrarian communities.
The Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council, Hon Newman Ugiagbe while declaring the book launch open, advised that it is “pertinent to have a main occupation, politics is a temporary one while the main occupation keeps one going.
The book reviewer, Mrs Christy Omoregbe of Nigeria Authors Association (NAA) Edo state chapter said ” It is a pathetic situation and we all are familiar with herdsmen incursion in the affected areas. The ugly situation she said started from the Northern part of Nigeria and appealed that all should join hands to tackle the menace if we want to continued to have food on our table.
The idea of herdsmen feeding their cows with the farm produce in peoples farm is very sad. You can not use the farmers crops to feed your cows, the death of farmers and loss of their farm produce has caused lot of havoc”.
“We appreciate the Governor of Edo state for wade in, which saw our farmers going back to the farm thereby putting food on our table. ”
The Hon. member representing Orhionmwon South Constituency, Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Bright Iyamu said he was proud of the Orhionmwon born Author for the laudable initiative of writing the book “Labour for nothing”.
Hon. Iyamu stated that “our children should be encouraged to read because readers he said are leaders. Once you learn to read, you will be forever free and reading can broaden your horizons and expand your mind “.
Highpoint of the book launch was the presentation of comedy by Mc Edo pikin and MC Casino along with group photograph by the dignitatries at the event amongst whom are the representatives of the secretary to the state government, Barr Osaodion Ogie, Comrade Osasumwen Omoragbon, Barr. Aseu Ighodalo was represented by Hon. Peter Aguele, Amb. Wesley Asoro, Mrs Nosa Aladeselu and others.
