Benin Club Builds Health Care Facility To Handle Emergency Cases For Its Members

Poised to tackle emergency situations that may arise during recreational activities, Benin club has built a clinic for its members.

 

The President of Benin club 1931, one of the top ten clubs in Nigeria,  Bar. Henry Omoregie disclosed this when he played host to Nigeria Association Of Women Journalists, NAWOJ   Edo State chapter.

 

Henry explained that the club is about family, bonding, recreation and sports, hence the building of the clinic for proper health care of members.

 

“The project which started few months ago, has been completed, equipped, waiting for commissioning. We have also employed nurses that will be on constant duty.  A team of medical personnels who are our members have been put together to work on volunteer basis.

“So the case of members slumping while performing any of the recreational activities without help will be a thing of the past immediately the clinic begins full operations.

 

“We are also going beyond catering for our members. We are providing employment to the teaming populace as we have over 100 workers on our payroll.  Some of them have spent over 30 years with us. Recently,  we retired Some of the workers who have spent 40years with us with full benefits. So you can see that we are giving back to the society.

 

“The founding fathers of the club are also not left uncared for. We take it as a duty to look out for them. We ensure that we mark their special days with them so that they continue to have sense of belonging.

 

Omoregie assured members of the club  that his tenure as the president of the club will bring about transformation

 

 

Earlier,  the Chairperson of Edo State NAWOJ, Adesuwa Ehimuan said that the association is redoubling its efforts to protect and improve the chances of Nigerian women in politics, governance, education, health, social and economic well-being with concerns about protecting the welfare and interests of women, children and people with disabilities (PWDs).

 

 

She commended the president for his giant strides in giving the club a face lift and assured that NAWOJ, Edo State Chapter are open to partnership in areas that borders on advocacy, welfare of women, girl-child and the elderly.
