This year’s theme, “Building Self-esteem in Boys: Stand Up, Be Heard, Be Seen,” highlights the importance of supporting boys’ growth.
The Office of the First Lady is committed to initiatives focused on education, health, and life skills, promoting supportive learning environments, addressing unique challenges faced by boys, mental health issues, and access to healthcare.
Mrs Anani reaffirmed her commitment to supporting boys’ development through initiatives that empower them to thrive. Ensure boys receive equal attention and support as girls, fostering a balanced approach to child development.
She further stated, let’s work together to build a supportive environment for our boys to grow and succeed. Encouraging parents, guardians and caregivers to provide supportive learning environments and be positive role models.
The international day of the boy child is observed annually on May 16. It serves as a reminder of the importance of nurturing and supporting boys to reach their full potential. By working together, we can create a brighter future for our boys.
