Edo NUJ Chairman Alenkhe, Permanent Secretaries Shine at NIPSS Strategic Leadership Course

The National Institute For Policy And Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos in Plateau state has successfully hosted the 13th Basic Stream Short Course On Strategic Leadership, Ethics And Policy Making (SLEAMP).
The intensive course brought together professionals from various government agencies across Nigeria ,equipping them with advanced leadership perspectives and ethical decision making frameworks critical to their roles in governance and policy making and implementation.
Top government functionaries drawn from most states in Nigeria including Edo state attended the course .Participants from Edo state include the Commissioner for Women Affairs And social development, Chief Marie Bisi Idaomi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry Of Energy and Water Resources, Mr Joseph Nyamdi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Mining, Mrs Ese Martina Omoruyi, Permanent Secretary, Human Resources, Mrs Bose Joy Igbinobaro and Mrs Irenonsen Joy Ihensekhien the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Women Affairs And Social development.
Also in attendance at the course 13 in Kuru Jos is the chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo state council and the Defence And Security Correspondent of Edo Broadcasting Service, Dr Festus Alenkhe.
Two Assistant Commissioners of Police were also in attendance at the Policy Making Course.
They are ACP Paul Okafor Area commander, Ikeja Lagos state and and ACP Olabisi Okuwobi , National Coordinator of Police Campaign Against Cultism and other related vices.
Speaking at the passing out ceremony, the Director General of the National Institute For Policy And Strategic Studies (NIPSS),Professor Ayo Omotayo said the institute is committed to enhancing quality leadership in Nigeria adding that a lot of great leaders drawn from both the military and public service have graduated from the institute.
He added that the Institute was opened in 1979 to streamline leadership acumen and create policies that will move the country forward.
Prof Omotayo advised upcoming leaders in Nigeria to enlist into the institute and be equipped with leadership styles, policy formulation and implementation strategies.
The course provided a unique platform for cross sectoral engagement, reinforcing the role of ethical leadership in National development.
In an interview, Edo state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and Defence And Security Correspondent of Edo Broadcasting Service who was a participant in the course, Dr Festus Alenkhe lauded the Federal Government for sustaining the institute since 1979.
Dr Festus Alenkhe commended the management of Edo Broadcasting Service for the encouragement received to attend the course and added that the experience and knowledge garnered at the course would be put into judicious use while discharging his responsibility.
The Strategic Leadership, Ethics And Policy Making Course remains one of NIPSS’ flagship training programs that is designed to foster a new generation of transformative leaders capable of addressing contemporary governance challenges.
