Edo State Government Reaffirms Commitment to Empowering Women

The coordinator, office of the first Lady, Mrs Edesili Anani has reaffirmed Edo State Government’s commitment to empowering women, emphasizing that Governor Monday Okpebholo is dedicated to initiatives that will uplift women across Edo State.

 

Mrs Anani made the statement while addressing the Afemia Women in Politics led by Princess Ewere Awa and her team at Government House, Benin City, during a courtesy visit.

 

Afemia Women in Politics comprises women of Afemia origin residing in Benin City, who actively participate in the electoral process in Benin-city.

 

Mrs. Anani thanked the group for their unwavering support, particularly during the last election, “A few days before the election, I was in Agenebode, and almost everyone I, spoke with expressed their support for Senator Monday Okpebholo. I, deeply appreciate the role you played. My heartfelt gratitude goes to my in-laws, co-wives, and our leader, Senator Adams Oshiomhole,” she said.

“Our Women’s Initiative Programs will positively impact all three senatorial districts and 18 local government areas. We must foster a strong community of sisterhood where we uplift one another. It is time to equip women with financial literacy, political awareness, and digital skills to build a stronger, more prosperous Edo State,” she added.

 

Mrs. Anani emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving sustainable progress for women, noting that a new era of empowerment has begun in Edo State

 

Princess Ewere commended Mrs. Anani for her dedication and impact since assuming office.

“We appreciate your hard work and resilience. We have confidence in your leadership, and we are here to express our commitment to partnering with your office. Afemia Women in Politics will give you the necessary support to advance women’s empowerment in the state,”.
