Egba market women jubilates, as Osayande commissions new market structure

The Edo State PDP Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi has hailed the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, noting that, he has not seen a Council Chairman in recent times put up the kind of quality representation Osayande is displaying in Ikpoba-Okha.
“I am still asking where Dr. Eric Osayande gets the money he works with; only a state executive works like this; Osayande deserves all the accolades for the beautiful job he is doing in Ikpoba-Okha”.
“I am very happy for Egba market women who are direct beneficiaries of this laudable facility; I urge you to see the facility as a personal property deserving of the greatest form of care.”
“Thank you very much, Mr. Chairman; I will take the message of development in Ikpoba-Okha back to my people”, Aziegbemi noted.
The State PDP Chairman, who was physically present in Egba, Ward 8, Ikpoba-Okha, made the remark, Thursday, at the official commissioning of Egba market, a facility built by the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, within a space of two (2) months.
The just commissioned Egba market ranks amongst the two markets the Ikpoba-Okha local government boss has completed since assuming office for the second term, September 2023, Iyanomo market, Ward 9, is complete and ready for commissioning.
In his remark, the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, noted that his administration places huge premium on women and children and will continue to do his best to reach out to them.
“We are doing a whole lot to make our women happy; the markets we have built so far will help to engage more women in trading; our idea is to see to it that women across the LGA are happy, because once women are happy, the society grows”.
“We are also sharing market money to market women, a programme that has seen to over one thousand eight hundred (1,800) women benefit; by first week of May, Egba market women will be captured for market money”, Osayande added.
Earlier, one of the frontline leaders of the local government area and a major player in Ward 8, where Egba market is situate, Pst. Blessed Ighiwiyisi, who is the facilitator of the market project, welcomed the State Party Chairman, the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, traditional rulers, political office holders, women and youths present, to Egba.
“I am very pleased to welcome everyone to this auspicious gathering; I am particularly grateful to the Ikpoba-Okha local government Chairman for his speedy response when the need to expand Egba market was brought before him; he did not waste any time, today, We have a 36-stall market facility, built in less than two (2) months”.
“Thank you, Mr. Chairman, on behalf of the good people of Egba community and the market women who are here with joy and excitement over their new market”, Ighiwiyisi noted.
The commissioned Egba market is a 3-unit of 36 open stalls facility built to accommodate the ever-increasing number of traders in Egba market, it stands magnificently in front of the main market in Egba community, Ward 8 of the local government area.
Thursday, Egba market women were seen in their beautiful regalia, dancing to sweet melodies emanating from the official commissioning of their market; a facility built by the Osayande-led administration.
Amongst dignitaries present at the commissioning were the Chairman PDP, Ikpoba-Okha, Mr. Friday Aiwumuagbonrie, his Deputy, Pst. Paul Osazuwa, Leader of the Legislative Arm, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Council, Hon. Kingsley Balogban, Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Youth Affairs, Hon. Shedrach Udugbai.
The Enogie of Egba, HRH Prince Iyekeoretin Omoregbe, the Odionwere of Egba community, Pa Daniel Ighiwiyisi, Enobore of Egba community, Chief Osadolor Ogiefa, Deputy State Pastor, Living Faith Church, Pst. Yemi Aina, State Co-ordinator, market women leaders, Mrs. Josephine Omoregie a.k.a “Madam Blacky”.

The Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, has directed the leaders of Egba market to provide a list of one hundred (100) Egba market women, who will get their share of the Osayande market money first week of May, as Iyanomo market gets set for commissioning.
