Amos Ishaku, an Internally Displaced Person (IDP) from northern Nigeria who was accommodated at the Home for the Needy in Edo State, has now resumed his studies at the University of Illinois, Chicago, USA.

Ishaku was among 12 refugees from the Home for the Needy who received automatic employment offers from the Edo State government in 2023, in recognition of their outstanding academic performances.

His academic excellence further earned him a scholarship to pursue a Philosophical Doctorate (PhD) in Engineering at the prestigious US university.

Pastor Solomon Folorunsho, the Coordinator of the International Christian Center, which oversees the Home for the Needy, expressed his joy, saying, “This is a clear indication that creating an enabling environment for those in need yields beautiful results.”

He added, “This achievement is a testament to the impact of the support given to orphans, widows, displaced individuals, and the vulnerable at our center. It shows that the assistance and resources provided are indeed making a significant difference.”
