To commemorate this year’s International Day of the Girl child, the member representing Orhionmwon South Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Bright Iyamu has extended his support to every girl child in Orhionmwon, celebrating their resilience and potential.
The 2024 theme, *“Girls’ Vision for the Future,”* reflects the courage and aspirations of girls worldwide who envision a future filled with equality, opportunity, and empowerment.
Hon. Iyamu acknowledged the significant challenges many girls still face, including limited access to quality education, healthcare, and protection from violence. Despite these obstacles, girls continue to push boundaries, making their voices heard and striving for change.
In a statement, Hon. Iyamu said, “I stand with every girl child of Orhionmwon LGA and beyond as they work toward building a future where their dreams are limitless. As leaders, it is our duty to create environments where girls can thrive, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed and safeguarding their rights at every level.”
The lawmaker expressed committment to advocating for policies that ensure gender equality, especially for young girls, and promised to continue pushing for initiatives that support their education, health, and leadership opportunities.
He called on all stakeholders to work together in empowering girls to turn their vision for the future into reality.
