Omosigho Unity Gold Cup 2024 Final, Iyamu show solidarity support

The Lawmaker Representing Oredo East Constituency in Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Frank Uyi Omosigho has said he will continue to support the youths through football and other activities which tend to promote unity for peaceful coexistence in the society.
The Omosigho Unity Gold Cup 2024 is an initiative of the Lawmaker Representing Oredo East Constituency.
Speaking to journalists at the final of the competition played on Saturday at the Garrick Memorial School Field, Ekenwan Road, Benin City, Omosigho said the aim of the tournament was to provide a vital platform for the youths to showcase their skills to enable sports enthusiasts and stakeholders discover their hidden talents.
The lawmaker congratulated Ward 4 for emerging winner of the first edition of the tournament, and for their outstanding performance, as well as the team that participated in the tournament.
The Hon. member representing Orhionwon South constituency, Hon. Bright Iyamu, was in attendance with other dignitaries to show solidarity to Hon. Omosigho.
Hon. Iyamu said , “I commend my brother and friend, Omosigho for this laudable initiative. Football helps to strengthen unity amongst youths in our society.
It is also an opportunity to discover talents and potentials. You can see the joy on the faces of the footballers”.
Football competition ignites unity amongst youths for societal development. I admonish the youth to say no to drugs and all negative vices in our society, they should all embrace peace, love and unity for the benefit of our state and the country at large.
Other dignitaries present were the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Barr. Osarodion Ogie, ably represented by the Former Chairman for EDSOGPADEC, Hon. Kennedy Osifo, The Majority Leader of Edo State House Assembly, Hon. Charity Aguobarueghian Iguodala, The Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Natasha Osawaru, Hon. Harrison Izekor, leader Oredo Legislative Arm, Hon. Precious Ehondor Councillor Representing ward 1, Hon. Owen Cole Councillor Representing ward 4, Hon. Elton Enetor Councillor Representing ward 12, amongst others.
