Osayande bags reliance newspaper’s merit award as best-performing local government Council Chairman in Edo State.

The Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, has been honoured for his exceptional administrative style.

Having effectively managed the affairs of the local government Council for two consecutive terms running, Osayande, over the weekend, bagged the award of “best-performing local government Council Chairman in Edo State”, by the reliance newspaper.

The award ceremony held at the NUJ Secretariat, GRA, Benin City, marking the 16th year anniversary of the reliance newspaper with an anniversary lecture titled: Democracy in Africa: The Role of Moneybags in Nigerian Politics.

At the event, the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, received numerous commendations for his selfless service to the people of Ikpoba-Okha.

Reeling through some of his works, representative of the Chairman, Mrs. Josephine Duze, noted that the administration of the Chairman has seen to the construction of new schools, markets, rehabilitation of roads, distribution of transformers to power-plagued communities.

“I am very proud to recieve this award on behalf of my Chairman; his administration has brought about significant reforms which includes, roads rehabilitation, rural electrification, construction of markets, schools, construction of industrial boreholes across communities, development of sports and culture, human capacity development, etc.”

“This recognition is very timely as it rightly captures the exceptional administrative style that the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman is exhibiting in the locality.”

“I want to convey Mr. Chairman’s appreciation to reliance newspaper for this recognition and to say that he will be further spured to do more by this singular award and others before now”, Duze added.

The Council Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, continues to expand the frontiers of development in Ikpoba-Okha, as he gets set to commission the newly-built Iyanomo market in Ward 9 and the just-completed Iwogban Primary School in Ward 1 of the LGA.

Meanwhile, last Thursday, Osayande got the Edo State PDP Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, to commission the newly-built Egba market in Ward 8 of LGA.
