Osayande distributes 100 chairs to Obagie, Osemwende primary schools

The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande, on Tuesday, distributed 100 chairs to Obagie and Osemwende Primary Schools in Wards 8 and 9 of the local government area.
The distribution, which forms part of the Osayande-led administration’s policy on educational development, remains a major exercise which has seen to many schools, primary and secondary benefit.
Recall that during Osayande’s first term, 2018-2021, more than 5000 double-seater chairs were distributed to schools.
Army Day Ward 1, Ogbeni Ward 2, Avbiama, Oguola Ward 5, Ugbekun Ward 7, Obazagbon, Idogbo and Utezi Ward 8, Iyi-Ewuare, Iyanomo and Ohoghobi Ward 9, and many other schools across the locality got chairs, all aimed at enhancing teaching and learning in the schools.
Thursday’s distribution would be the first in the series since Osayande assumed office for the second term, September, 2023.
The Council Boss has said several other schools, including the completed Iwogban Primary School in Ward 1, will get.
Iwogban Primary School in Iwogban Community, Lucky Way, is a 6-classroom block built from scratch by the Osayande-led administration; the school is ready and will be handed over to the relevant authority soonest, Osayande has assured.
Reacting to the distribution of chairs, Headmistress of Osemwende Primary School, Ward 9, Comrade (Mrs.) Ona Bridget, said, “today we are very happy, you can see my pupils, they are happy, our Council Chairman brought chairs for us, before now our children sits on the floor, I was surprise to receive 50 chairs from the Council Chairman this morning.”
“On behalf of the teachers and pupils of Ohoghobi Primary School, I appreciate the Council Chairman for deeming it fit to send us these chairs”, she added.
Enogie of Ohoghobi, HRH Kingsley Omorose, who was present at the distribution of chairs to the primary school, appreciated the Council boss for the intervention.
He noted, “I appreciate the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman for his swift response to our request for chairs in this school; he has shown deep concern for the management, staff and pupils of Osemwende, we are very glad and will continue to support his administration owing to the great things he is doing across the LGA.”
In Obagie Primary School, Ward 8, the pupils went into high excitement upon sighting the distribution team, management and staff of the school took to cheers as they recieved 50 chairs in their school.
Headmistress of Obagie Primary School, Mrs. Queen Ebose, expressed excitement noting that they have long waited for the chairs.
“We are so excited, you can see the excitement in the children, we have long waited for this, the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman is a man that has the people at heart”, she said.
“I know what he did in his first term, which spured me to initiate communication with him; as soon as I requested for Chairs in Obagie, only for him to call me on Friday that the chairs are ready, you can see the chairs are here now”, Ebose added.
Elders of both communities also sent words of prayers to the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, as pupils were seen commending Osayande with songs and recitations.
“More schools across the local government area, will get chairs to enhance teaching and learning”, the Council Chairman has assured.
