Osayande holds enlarged security meeting

The Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, on Friday met with Enigie, DPOs, DSS, Road Safety, NSCDC and members of the vigilante force in Ikpoba-Okha at an enlarged meeting to design better modalities to secure the lives and property of Ikpoba-Okha residents.
The well-attended meeting held at the festival hall of the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Council, addressing areas needing improvement aimed at enhancing peace and security in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Dr. Eric Osayande interfaces with Enigie and relevant security operatives once every month.
On Friday, the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman stressed the need for greater synergy amongst security stakeholders, noting that they must continue to interface with Enigie in their domain to fight communal clashes.
“I am very impressed with the array of persons that are attending this meeting, aimed at discussing ways and means at improving security in our domains.”
“While I commend the efforts of our security operatives and of course our traditional rulers, I must also advance the need for improved synergy between the various stakeholders to build a more solid and formidable security system in our LGA”, Osayande added.
Stressing the need for improved intelligence gathering, the Police noted that total cooperation of the traditional rulers will enhance their intelligence gathering ability, noting that traditional rulers and other community leaders must continue to give relevant information to security operatives to work with.
The Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman reiterated his commitment to improved security of lives and property; noting that he will continue to give the necessary support to security operatives in Ikpoba-Okha; Osayande equally called for the total cooperation of traditional rulers in curbing insecurity in the locality.
Traditional rulers expressed satisfaction with Osayande’s administrative style, reiterating their support for his administration.
Twenty Enigie were present at the monthly meeting with the Council Chairman.

Councilors, Secretary to Local Government and Supervisory Councilors of various Wards were present at the peace and security meeting of Friday.
Senior Council officials including Director of Administration and General Services, Head of Revenue Department, NULGE Chairman, Ikpoba-Okha, and a host of others attended the meeting.
The Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, has said his administration will continue to interface with the traditional institution as part of his administration’s policy thrust to building peace, harmony and ensure even distribution of developments across the LGA.
