Each year on March 08, the world marks International Women’s Day (IWD) to renew our collective commitment to achieving gender equality. This year, we are enjoined to “invest in women,” to accelerate progress.”
The 2024 theme, “Invest in women: Accelerate Progress,” highlights the importance of gender equality, women and girls empowerment, and their rights to healthier lives.
I, am very pleased to support this message today, as improving the health and education of all women and girls should be our collective priority.
We urge stakeholders to prioritize gender equality in policies and programs, promote women’s participation in leadership roles, and provide resources to support women-owned businesses and initiatives.
It is important that challenges such as gender-based violence, limited access to education and healthcare, and unequal representation in decision-making positions should be nipped in the bud.
On this year’s International Women’s Day, let us envision a future where gender equality is not just a goal but a reality.
Women have always been the epitome of strength and resilience. Let’s keep encouraging every woman.
Together, we can empower women, empower humanity, and create a more inclusive and equitable world for all.
This can be achieved by the following: Promoting equal opportunities for women in the workplace.
Ending all forms of discrimination and violence against women and girls.
Wishing for a world where opportunities are boundless and women soar higher in all their endeavours
Happy International Women’s Day.
