The honourable member representing Orhionmwon South Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Bright Iyamu, has joined the rest of the world in celebrating teachers on World Teachers’ Day, reflecting on the immense influence teachers have on shaping both individuals and society.

This year’s theme,“Valuing Teachers’ Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education,” underscores the crucial place of educators in building a better future.

In his heartfelt message, Hon. Iyamu emphasized that teachers are more than just instructors; noting that they are the lifeblood of communities, mentors who guide the next generation and inspire change.

He expressed his personal appreciation for the sacrifices teachers make every day to nurture the minds that will one day lead the nation.

“Behind every doctor, engineer, artist, or leader, there is a teacher who believed in them,” Iyamu observed “Their passion and commitment shapes the future of our communities, our nation, and the world. Without teachers, we simply cannot move forward.”

Hon. Iyamu spoke of the profound personal impact teachers have on every individual, urging Government and educational stakeholders to do more in meeting their needs.

The Lawmaker stressed that teachers’ voices must be heard, as they are on the frontlines, preparing future generations for an ever-changing world.

“As our society continues to evolve, so must our educational system,” he continued. “Our teachers have a deep understanding of what is needed to equip our youth for tomorrow. Their insight, dedication, and wisdom are what truly fuels the growth of our nation.”

Hon. Iyamu expressed his deep gratitude for teachers, recognizing their tireless efforts and dedication.

“To all the teachers out there, we appreciate you, we value you, and we thank you. You are the unsung heroes who shape our lives, and your contributions will never be forgotten.”
